Question by E O: Should I start my own Price Comparison website?
I am thinking that due to the current state of the economy the more price comparison websites are made available, the more help this is to people trying to save money? on fuel, gas, electricity, food and even cars- car insurance.
What does everyone else think?

Best answer:

Answer by imisidro
Price comparison sites are a very useful tool for online shoppers. Hence, even big companies are wanting to have their own price comparison sites

Yahoo bought Kelkoo, a leading European price comparison service, in 2004
eBay acquired Shopping.com in 2005 for about 0 million
Experian acquired PriceGrabber also in 2005 for 5 million

Notice the price tags these big boys paid for the price comparison sites.

Your challenge will be creating a search engine that will gather the price information from the online stores. And that will be a TOUGH challenge.

If you have the programming skills or the deep resources you need, this is a very good space. But if not, it will be extremely hard to make it work — unless you focus on niches (e.g price comparison site for baby goods only)

What do you think? Answer below!

Electricity price comparison is comparing what different prices electricity companies have to offer. Electricity is essential for households today. It is nearly impossible to live without the luxury of electricity as we need it for light, watching TV, using the computer to write a blog or listen to the radio for example. Basically we have no choice when it comes to using electricity. However we have a choice of how this electricity is generated and how much we are willing to pay for it.

In the past few years scientists and inventors have come up with many different ways of producing electricity. There is wind mills, water powered and even energy produced through the sun. Of course it depends in which country you live in, for example England has a lot of wind and no sun, so they are more likely to use wind or water energy, whereas turkey has a lot of sun and nearly no wind, so they are more likely to use UV powered energy.

When talking about electricity price comparison we of course think of the cheapest price first, but this might not always be the right choice to make. The main reason of a price comparison is because there are many electricity companies trying to get more customers, and the way to do that is to give customers what they want and if another organisation is offering the same they have to cut prices to compete against each other.

The thing is that customers are not all the same either and don’t all want the same thing. One customer might want the expensive quick option, one might want the cheapest and another might want the best value one. I think that most people today would be the best value customer rather than the other two. However there are still some people who go for the other options but in my opinion they are really poor, rich or just plane silly.

Now you know what an electricity price comparison is, you can start going on to the Internet and searching the web for an electricity comparison website and try to find the best option for you. If you come across something that sounds too good to be true it normally is, so be aware of people trying to rip you off.

electricity price comparison

I have a friend who bought a new house in the centre of London, it was beautiful, however he had a prearranged electricity company providing him with electricity. After the first 3 months of living there he got the bill and had a heart attack. The bill was £1500. After recovering from his heart attack he found out who was in charge of this company, got a gun and shot the guy. Now my friend is in prison, just because he did not go on a electricity price comparison website.

Donnot wait anymore to make the same mistake that my friend did, and go on a comparison website now, before it is too late.
